This legendary cheese-maker is honored to open its doors and share its rich history with visitors. Using sweet milk from nearby Iowa farms Maytag has been making their famous cheese since 1941. The Jasper CountyHistorical Museum contains many interesting exhibits utilizing over8000 artifacts that have been donated to the society over the years.One of the outstanding attractions near the entrance to the museum is a40 foot long bas-relief sculpture depicting the history of JasperCounty. There is an Iowa Native American diorama theater quiltexhibit and more! There is also extensive agriculture equipment locatedin the barn.
