On a business trip, and all my usuals were full - state boys basketball tourney. Late at night and no reservation - Parking lot well lit and convenient. Staff were wonderful, pleasant, helpful, and made sure I had all I needed. Lobby is very pleasant too. Room was clean, and quiet, no hall or parking lot noise at all. Breakfast had lots of offerings, and tasted fresh and good. Would stay again, no question.

Staff courteous and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Plenty room to move around. We enjoyed the lobby area to sit and relax by the fire. All the furniture comfortable and clean. Also enjoyed the pool area. Although we did not use the pool it also is an inviting place to sit and visit. Last but not least...breakfast was wonderful with many different choices. We will choose this Lodge again next time we are meeting friends for the week-end.

Thanksgiving was 1100 miles away from home in Newton, IA this year and the AmericInn made it delightful. The staff were kind and courteous. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We stayed in a 2 queen suite which was more than ample for our family of 5. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of choices. The only negative I would name is that there was no microwave in the room which is very minor. This is a fantastic place to stay. Also, Des Moines was a short trip away so we did some shopping too.

We have stayed twice at this hotel. The first time we reserved a family suite, which was perfect for our family of six. The second stay all the family suites were already taken, but every effort was made to accommodate our larger sized family comfortably in one of the larger queen rooms. Staff is wonderful. Pool is clean and well maintained. Bar area is right off the lobby and a very nice spot to have a glass of wine before bed with your spouse, if your children are older and can be left in the room alone (our oldest is 16). My one complaint is that there is only one treadmill, so it's easy to miss your chance to run if it happens to be occupied and you are on a schedule. Otherwise, a fantastic place to stay in Newton.

The Americinn is a newer, very modern motel. We especially loved the coffee bar that included hot cocoa and teas 24/7. Breakfasts were good...lots of variety, even hard-boiled eggs and cottage cheese cups. We were pleasantly upgraded to a whirlpool suite - a nice surprise - and my husband enjoyed the jacuzzi. The pool area is very nice and the kids had a great time. This is our new place to stay in Newton!
