Located 12 miles south of Havre on Highway 234 this natural recreation area of 10000 acres extends to the north slope of the Bears Paw Mountains. Picnic areas and developed secluded campsites are located for public use. The park offers unlimited opportunities for recreation such as sightseeing hiking fishing cross-country skiing and snowmobiling

Here you will find the Blaine County Museum and the Bear Paw Battlefield. The museum serves as the Interim National Park Service Center for the Battlefield which is 16 miles south on Route 240. Both are open year round. Golfing is available at the Chinook Golf Course and Country Club west of Chinook.
