Due to the length of my stay (6 weeks) they moved me into a suite that far exceeded my expectations without any change in the room rate. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. They will provide you a great stay at a great rate.

We stayed here on Friday the 29th on our way up to the UP from Chicago. We have two dogs, and usually the hotels we find that accomidate pets are dingy. I was so surprised how clean the hotel and room was (especially after reading another comment on Tripadvisor). I brought my dog into the lobby at check in, and the girls at the counter were super sweet to him! they have a lot of lawn, and the hotel is in a less congested area, so there was a lot of space to dog walk. They put us in an end room, which is great, because it was right next to the door when we had to take our dogs out.
The hotel was really beautiful, and the perfect spot for a night! We used the hotub what was the cleanest once I have ever been in -- but beware, if you are senstive to chlorine, it is highly chlorinated!

I booked 2 rooms here, one under my name and the other under xxxxxx name. We were staying just last night after a GB Packer game, a party of four. My husband, xxxxxx, is in your REWARDS PROGRAM and stays in locations throughout the state of Wisconsin all year long on business. He recommended we stay at this location. What a MISTAKE!
It was a ladies' weekend and we stayed up playing cards until 2:30 am. When I opened my bed there were stains on the sheets and it was obvious they had not been changed. My friend opened her bed and there were crumbs in the sheets and a black bug crawled across the sheet. We were grossed out and immediately called the front desk. The human stains on the sheets were disgusting and nauseating and then the big black bug made it even worse.
The night manager came up immediately, looked at the sheets and bug, then stripped the beds and put all new bedding on both beds. She apologized profusely and then gave me a certificate for a free stay. I told her, since I would not be needing to stay in Appleton again, I wanted $100 back that I paid for the room. She said since I booked through Expedia I could not get my money back. By now it was after 3am and I said I would talk to someone at check-out.
Today I spoke to Tiffany and she confirmed she knew about the incident but we could not get our money back and all we could get was the certificate. She became very nasty when I pressed the issue and I told her we took pictures and I would post them to Expedia, Trip Advisor, and any other social media source. She told me to go ahead, the beds were clean, she had checked them yesterday, she would deny we stayed there. She said she was going to call Expedia for us but, now if we were posting to Trip Advisor we could call the ourselves!! I asked her if it was worth $100 for us to slam this location on Trip Advisor since she had a 4 1/2 star rating plague on the counter. She will deny we stayed there! She does not care what we do. She will claim we lied. To raise her voice to us and tell us she will deny we stayed there, will go on Trip Advisor and say we were lieing and we did not stay in Appleton is not the kind of customer service I expect.
I was just telling a new staff member everything you say will come back and it will be completely twisted to what you actually said. So make sure to choose your words carefully, always apologize and let them know you or the Manager (myself) will be happy to help you.
With making her room reservation through Expedia, we did not have any of her information/ credit card and would have to call Expedia for a refund. I then took this a step further and told Joy that I would go ahead and take care of this for her and call Expedia on her behave.
Our Hotel is clean and if anyone says the word bug, I freak. I asked to see the photos because if there is indeed a bug in this hotel I need to know asap. I was denied that opportunity and just had our bug guys come in where nothing was found. Thank goodness! Sorry to hear of this horrible stay it should have never happened and I assure you it will not in the future. Thank you for keeping me/us on our toes.
Always enjoy Americinn Appleton on Gateway. Clean modern facility, friendly staff. Only down side is that pool is rented out to families or for instruction. Not sure what that is about. Overall...
