Milwaukee Art Museum700 N Art Museum Dr Home to over 25,000 works of art, the Milwaukee Art Museum contains some of the best collections of German Expressionism, American decorative arts, and post-1960 American art, as well as a large number of works by Georgia O’Keeffe. Founded in 1882, this Wisconsin museum has recently gained international recognition with the construction of the white concrete Quadracci Pavillion designed by Santiago Calatrava, his first completed project in the United States. Milwaukee Public Museum800 West Wells Street This Milwaukee museum is the city’s natural and human history museum, featuring three floors of exhibits and Wisconsin’s first IMAX Theater. William F. Eisner Museum of Advertising & Design208 N Water St Opened in 2000 by prolific advertising entrepreneur William F. Eisner’s wife in partnership with the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, this Museum focuses on the impact that modern advertising and design has on the social, historical, and aesthetic aspects of American culture. Past exhibits include the legendary Burma-Shave roadway billboards, and 100 years of Harley Davidson advertising. Wisconsin State Capitol Building2 E Main St Home to the Governor’s office and the State Supreme Court, the State Capitol building features several architectural accents that make the building a must-see attraction. Housing 43 varieties of stone from around the world, the Capitol building boasts the only granite dome in the United States, decorated with a lavish mural by Edwin Blashfield.
