Clear Lake is a bustling resort community of about 8,500 year-round residents plus several thousand summertime residents. It is served by Interstate 35 and Highway 18. The diversified economic base includes manufacturing, retailing, agriculture and resort operations. As the focus of everyone's interest, the lake is more than 3,600 acres in size with a length of over six miles, measuring 2 1/2 miles at the widest point. It has miles of sandy beach suitable for swimming. Clear Lake is well known for its great sailing, boating and fishing.
