World-Class Fishing - Four seasons of fishing. Fish for walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, perch and sauger.

Hunting - Lake of the Woods offers hunters vast tracks of public hunting lands that are loaded with the game.  Black bear, upland game birds, waterfowl, and whitetail deer are most common in the area.

Snowmobiling - Snowmobile the Lake of the Woods and Rainy River area on more than 500 miles of continuously groomed and marked snowmobile trails.  Most of the trails run through areas of pristine wilderness.  Typically, riders can enjoy the trails from December 1st through March 31st.

Cross-Country Skiing - Zippel Bay State Park maintains over 12 miles of groomed ski trails during the winter months.  The Trails wind through scenic areas of vast stands of pine, spruce and birch trees.

Family Skating - The Baudette Arena is open on Saturdays for Open Skating during the winter, Monday through Friday from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.  The Williams Arena is open as well.

Birding - Lake of the Woods County offers incredible opportunities for beginning and seasoned birders.  Seasonal sightings include migratory waterfowl, shorebirds, wood warblers, flycatchers, raptors, thrushes and eagles.  Resident woodland species include a wide variety of woodpeckers and owls.
