Family Attractions and Activities
Lake of the Woods –Lake of the Woods is over 70 miles long and wide and contains more than 14,000 islands and 65,000 miles of shoreline. It is also the 6th largest fresh water lake located in the U.S. after only the 5 great lakes. There is four seasons of fishing that include walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, perch and sauger.
Willy the Walleye - Weighing in at 2.5 tons and measuring 40 feet long, Willie Walleye is the largest walleye and serves as mascot for the Walleye Capital of the World.

Zippel Bay State Park
Wilhelm Zippel was one of the first permanent settlers of the area, he established a commercial fishing enterprise on the lake in the late 1800’s and the state park was established in 1959 to provide public access to Lake of the Woods and provide recreational opportunities in the area including camping, hiking, fishing and cross country skiing.

Snowmobiling - Snowmobile the Lake of the Woods and Rainy River area on more than 500 miles of continuously groomed and marked snowmobile trails. Most of the trails run through areas of pristine wilderness. Typically, riders can enjoy the trails from December 1st through March 31st.
Hunting - Lake of the Woods offers hunters vast tracks of public hunting lands that are loaded with the game. Black bear, upland game birds, waterfowl, and whitetail deer are most common in the area.
Family Skating - The Baudette Arena is open on Saturdays for Open Skating during the winter, the Williams Arena is open as well. Willie Walleye Landmark-Weighing in at 2.5 tons and measuring 40 feet long, Willie Walleye is the worlds largest walleye and serves as the landmark in Baudette as Walleye Capital of the World.

Cross-Country Skiing - Zippel Bay State Park maintains over 12 miles of groomed ski trails during the winter months. The Trails wind through scenic areas of vast stands of pine, spruce and birch trees.

Oak Harbor - Public, 18 hole Par 72 Championship Course will provide golfers a with fair, enjoyable, and exciting golf experience. The vintage front nine, created in 1968, is nestled along the Rainy River and offers scenic fairways which are carved out of mature and wooded confines. The newly designed back nine is a Scottish Links Style with fairway/greenside bunkers, large ponds and quick greens. Accommodations include proshop, bar and restaurant.
