The room was clean, the staff was helpful... I enjoyed my time in Des Moines. Lots of places to eat in the area. It was a very friendly place, I will stay there again when i go back. Ratchael and Sydney went out of their way to make it a pleasant stay..
I liked the price e and friendliness of the staff. Clean rooms. Excellent internet. There are decent restaurants near by. I recommend the market cafe north on Lefluer ave. The hotel is a bit hard to find its set back off the main Lefluer ave but it's quiet even with the air...

The hotel is a bit hard to find its set back off the main Lefluer ave but it's quiet even with the airport minutes away. Overall great. I'd stay there again. We had the king room with whirlpool for 94.00 pretty nice to me

First, I will start with the positive side. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job as the rooms and hallways were clean and tidy. The negative aspects began with the front desk staff. They were ill-disposed upon checking in. They were kneeling down behind the front desk, and I wasn’t even greeted. I had to approach the staff and say I was checking in. Their reply was “one moment.” I have worked in customer service in the past, and I was always taught to stop what I am doing and greet the customer. They could have politely greeted me instead of pretending I was not there. Their lack of caring set forth a course of stay that was less than par for Americinn Hotels. Due to the lack of cleanliness in the breakfast area, overall cleanliness was poor. Every table had sticky syrup and leftover food on it. Guests said they had to ask someone to clean their table, this shouldn’t happen. Dried syrup was all over the floor stuck to your shoes. Dried eggs were sitting on the serving spoon and dish the serving spoon was on, and it was the same for the sausage gravy. There was at least a cup of sausage gravy sitting on the dish that the serving spoon was sitting on. I understand this is going to happen, but it needs to be cleaned as there is a risk for bacteria forming on this sort of thing. I know on this day the hotel was full and many people went through there, but when it slows down, it can be cleaned. I appreciate the effort hotels have made to get away from the coffee, juice, and donuts theme, but if that is all you can handle, stick to it. I took a clean fork to try the eggs and sausage, I took one small bite and couldn’t finish it. The eggs and sausage were cold. Fresh eggs were brought out, but they were wet and mushy. I tried a pastry, and it was dry. This is disappointing because even though hotels say “Free Breakfast”, you pay for it in the price of the room. Also, it was my fault for not asking, but I was disappointed the pool area didn’t have a hot tub. It is unclear at times that hotels do not have hot tubs in pool areas. I feel this should be disclosed and be clearer at this hotel and other chains as well. I have stayed at many other Americinn Hotels over the past few decades, and this was my worst experience ever. I would never stay or recommend this Americinn location in the future because of the lack of customer service, the uncleanliness of the breakfast area, the risk of foodborne illness, and not having a hot tub in the pool area.

We booked a two queen with pull-out sleeper sofa room to accommodate our family of 5. The room was comfortable and appeared to be clean. The kids were anxious to swim so we changed and went straight down. The pool area is small - there is no hot tub. It was a busy place and seating was very limited. We had to ask twice for pool towels and the gentleman at the front desk not only seemed bored but annoyed to be asked for the towels. The kids grew tired of the pool area and we went upstairs to clean up and find some supper. At that point we discovered that despite making a reservation for 5 people, we were only given 4 towels and 2 washcloths. Also, there was one bottle of shampoo, 2 bottles of lotion and no conditioner. That seems like a minor thing but for longer hair after being in the pool, the conditioner would have been handy. The water was also extremely hard. (We did appreciate that the shower head was high enough for my 6'1" husband to stand under without doing a backbend.) The two beds had 3 pillows each. There were no pillows provided for the fold-out couch so I called the front desk to ask for an extra pillow or two and was told unapologetically that they had so many guests they had no extra pillows. Understandable, we decided, and we made do. But with the bored/indifferent attitude I was not inspired to ask for anything else (like conditioner or more towels). The only other major annoyance was that the Direct TV seemed to be tied to the main light switch. It took forever to turn on and had to run an entire channel search before being able to use it, so having to sit through that and miss the program we were watching when we turned the light off was irritating. I only share the annoyances with the understanding that they annoyed us. The room was comfortable. The heating/cooling unit ran well and provided a nice white noise to sleep by. I did not notice much hall noise. The bed was a bit firm for me but the kids slept well. The room seemed to be clean. There was a small refrigerator and a microwave which was a nice feature. The family says the breakfast was "adequate" and they seemed to stick to the cold cereal, but it was better than nothing. The rate was fairly reasonable for the area - we tend to do budget-friendly hotels as much as we can and we have stayed in hotels that were just as nice for less money. We were obviously not displeased with the hotel, but with a few minor changes we would have been really happy.
Thank you for your condid feedback. I am sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with the staff's attitude. I am sorry about not enough towels and soaps in the room, please note that this information has been passed to our concerned housekeeping staff. We are happy that you did enjoy your stay with us. We hope to welcome you back on your return visit to the Des Moines area. Have a great day.
Stayed one night while we were in the area. Last minute booking as the motel was filling up. First floor room but actually pretty quiet. Room seemed like it had been remodeled fairly recently. Very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was typical motel breakfast and was ok.
We appreciate you taking the time to write kind words about you stay with us. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to seeing you in the future when you are in the area. Thanks and have a great day.
