good value for the property. I stay there on regular business trips to the area. The rooms are always clean. Sometimes check in can be a bit slow. Otherwise this hotel meets all my expectations. For business, I stay in hotels around 50 nights per year.
Looking for another option in Fort Dodge, nice clean rooms, nothing fancy - breakfast area a little crowded, but was your average free breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will stay again when in town.
We have stayed at a couple others in FD also. Not sure why this one should be rated #1 as a couple of the others are just as good and more of a $$ value. Probably good idea to request a room far form the bar. The beds were very nice. The breakfast is a good one.

I have been coming to Fort Dodge to work as a consultant to UnityPoint Trinity Regional Medical Center since 2008. I have stayed at AmericInn for most of my visits. I also have stayed at their competitor a couple of times. I believe that both hotels provide really good service and accommodations; but in my opinion, AmericInn comes out the winner by a nose.
One rainy night last week, I came back to the hotel after dinner at a local restaurant. There were three guys out at the bench, just outside the lobby entrance. The hotel roof extends over the lobby entrance and driveway so that they did not get rained on. As I walked past them, someone said, "Run, run, run!" I gave a chuckle, thinking that he meant, "from the rain." I get to the double doors and it was locked. The receptionist immediately unlocked the door for me and locked it behind me. I asked if everything was alright. I was informed that the 3 guys were drunk and disorderly and they had to call the cops to get them to leave. They were guests at the hotel, but drunken disorder was not tolerated at the hotel. It was a little scary, but I was glad to find out safety and security of the hotel guests were given high priority.
Thank you for picking our hotel while you were in Fort Dodge. We take our guest and stafff safety very serious here at the Americ Inn. We hope to see you in the future when you return to Fort Dodge IA.

We stayed at the Fort Dodge AmericInn on the first night of our trip on Hwy 20 to Portland. The only room available was a king with jacuzzi. We would have preferrred a less expensive room but the hotel was full with a conference group. The hotel and the room were very clean and the desk staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was pretty good with scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, fruit, yogurt, sweet rolls and breads, etc. The only negative was that the jacuzzi tub is in a corner of the bedroom and not very conducive to a bathing experience.
I have stayed in other AmericInn locations and they are not luxury class, but on the whole they provide a good night's sleep at a reasonable price and I will stay with them again.
