Stayed at the AmericInn at Pella for the first time. Nice clean hotel with friendly staff. I was impressed that maintenance was checking the rooms to make sure the heat was working as it was a cold day. Very happy with the room, breakfast, etc. Would stay there again.
Clean rooms. Fresh cookies when I came in. Need I say more? I only stayed for one night so there is not much I can say about the city of Pella. I would definitely recommend this establishment to a friend.

Stayed during Central College Homecoming Weekend - which means lot of people in town. Showed up to check in, several people in line. Only 1 person handling reservations. Been nice of their were 2 people taking reservations. While waiting in line, hotel cleaning staff seemed frustrated. One person leaving, still several rooms yet to clean, the person staying to clean wasn't happy. They were talking loudly back and forth. Door to the laundry room was right behind the check-in counter was open. I didn't really need to see the mess in the laundry room. The lady running front desk - hair was undone, her clothes not the neatest. I would say all of this falls under "lack of professionalism". Room was fine 7 clean. Some wear and tear in bathroom. Bed good. Continental breakfast good. Smaller swimming pool and hot tub. Hotel in good location right off Hwy 163 on northwest end of town. Arby's right across the street. A bar/restaurant 2 blocks away. All within walking distance. Reasonably priced for this hotel. Overall, once you get over the hotel staff - not a terrible place to stay. Good place if you are just spending the night and not hanging out there for hours.
I went back to review your check-in process, and it would appear that Debbie checked you in. I am surprised to hear your comments on Debbie, because a lot of our guests will specifically mention her in good reviews. She is always accommodating, and will offer a smile under the most challenging circumstances, which is the number one quality I look for in any staff member in this business.
It would also appear that there were not that many check-in’s for that particular day. I realize that the bulk of reservations may have all arrived at once, which is an unfortunate twist of fate for everyone, but that mishap cannot be avoided. Even if we had 2 Front Desk Agents, if all arrivals show up at once, there will be the inevitable wait.
I’m glad that you found your room to your satisfaction, but regrettably had issues with the professionalism of the staff, including Housekeeping, as well as the visual on the Laundry Room. This is a good tip to pass on to the employees. Housekeeping gets so caught up in their tasks, that they can sometimes forget there is another world outside of their mission. Getting good housekeepers is one of my main priorities here, and I am probably to blame, because I feel that I have an excellent staff of workers that care very much about their work, so I get them revved up with excitement. I will remind them to keep the door closed.

We stayed 3 nights and 4 days in Pella's AmericInn. The room we stayed in was clean and very comfortable. We had a king size bed and it was nice and firm with plenty of pillows. The breakfast served daily was plentiful and simple, even fresh waffles were available to be made...
We stayed 3 nights and 4 days in Pella's AmericInn. The room we stayed in was clean and very comfortable. We had a king size bed and it was nice and firm with plenty of pillows. The breakfast served daily was plentiful and simple, even fresh waffles were available to be made by guests if wanted. The breakfast room was very clean & food replenshied when needed without a wait. The entire AmericInn staff was attentive and very pleasant. We'd stay there again.
It does my heart good, when I see a guest walk away with having their needs, and expectations met. It is the desire of all of us, Front Desk, Maintenance, Housekeeping, etc., here at the Pella AmericInn, to take good care of every guest that walks in the door, and when I see confirmation of that, I know all of the staff's efforts have been rewarded.

We had a very bad experience! Room was not clean, unattentive staff, and just an all around bad experience. The liner in the ice bucket was dripping wet with the last guest's leftover melted ice....eww! Don't plan on ever stepping foot in the place again!
So sorry to hear about the experience you encountered at our hotel. I’m wondering if you reported any of the problems you report. We are always about guest’ satisfaction, above all else, and I can assure you, that had it been brought to our attention, we would have made sure you left happy, whatever that took.
