We stayed here after reading the reviews and were very happy with our stay. Clean, quiet and close to town. We got breakfast in the morning that included some warm foods. We will be back again when we don't have our pet with us.

Good value for clean and nice hotel. Rooms were very nice. Very clean and comfortable. Nice indoor pool. Enjoyed good breakfast that was included with room price. Not enough seating for breakfast for amount of guests.

Photos online looked good when we booked this hotel. However, the bathrooms are not quite up to par. The first night we had a room with a handicap shower that was moldy and unsightly and the toilet seat had been rigged to stay on the toilet. No ventilation fan in bathroom so...
Photos online looked good when we booked this hotel. However, the bathrooms are not quite up to par. The first night we had a room with a handicap shower that was moldy and unsightly and the toilet seat had been rigged to stay on the toilet. No ventilation fan in bathroom so it remained damp and steamy. We asked to be moved so the second night had a regular bath - the vanity was separated from the bathtub and toilet. Still no fan in the bathroom. Consequently, the room felt humid and damp each time we came in.
Complimentary breakfast served was fine - the usual offerings of cold cereals, bagels, toast, waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage. Coffee was good with choices of flavorings. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Overall alright but bathrooms need some repair and modernizing.
Thank you for your e-mail. The room that you were in - barrier free - is designed for wheelchair accessibility and the toilet seats are not the same as you would find in a regular bathroom. As we explained during your stay the bathroom fans are roof top units and especially when on the first floor, you will not hear the fans in operation as they are on the roof. This is due to our SoundGuard construction. We are sorry that you were unhappy wit the bathrooms but hope that you will return again soon. Thank you for your review.

When I booked this Hotel the reviews I read were pretty good. For the area and compared to other Hotels I researched, the room rate seemed reasonable. It's a short drive to Front Street which is the happening downtown area in Traverse City. Very easy to get to but too far to walk. Our King size bed that I requested was very comfortable and we slept well. The "room" was clean and breakfast was your usual continental fare. We were totally unprepared for the condition of the bathroom shower. (thus my "poor" rating) There was mold growing on the walls and around the drain which was totally disgusting and didn't just happen overnight. We dealt with it and I complained the next morning when we checked out. The manager was not in yet but the gal on duty was very courteous and understanding and said that she would speak with him about it. I mentioned that it was difficult to believe that he was aware of the problem. Everything else about the Hotel seemed well taken care of. Within hours, I had a message that they would give me a credit on my bill which I was happy about. The manager must be a fair man. I don't know if I'll give AmericInn Hotels another chance or not. We live in Florida and they seem to be a up North Hotel chain. We didn't use the pool, but it didn't seem to be anything special.

I will start with the positives...the room was very clean as well as the bathroom. The housekeeping staff did a great job. The pool was very nice. The location was within walking distance to the state park/beach and a short drive to Front Street. Nick was very friendly at check-in. The price was good for the area.
Negatives...the breakfast was the same exact foods all three days we were there. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bland. The coffee was very bland. Our last morning we opted to eat out. The other staff I spoke with at the front desk were not friendly. I had a problem at check out and the employee seemed bothered to help me and said once the problem (I was overcharged $60) was credited to my credit card she would call me. I received no phone call at all. She told me she could not handle the credit herself, only the manager.
Overall, if I were to return to Traverse City I would probably stay at the Hampton Inn.

Also, as for your comment regarding your thought of overcharged, we have reviewed it and the front desk explained the charges to you and then referred it to a manager when there was still concern. I personally did attempt to contact you but never heard back. I'm sorry you felt otherwise. We take guest comments very serious and address each comment.
