and the breakfast was good for those who eat breakfast. Very friendly staff. Right on I-90 so convenient for travelers. Very clean room. And there's a pool for the kids. Room also had a microwave and refrigerator, a plus.

We booked this hotel at 8pm, arriving 30 minutes later on our way through from South Dakota. When we pulled up, the AmericInn sign was not lit up, so it was hard to find and made me a little uncomfortable. As we pulled into the driveway, a group of (assuming) wedding guests were outside the main entrance smoking. Also not a good sign. However, our family was exhausted from driving. The first surprise, was the wedding guests being very nice and opening the doors for our family of four and luggage. :) The front desk was nice enough. There is no elevator, but it is a small, two-story hotel. From there - we were very impressed with the decor and our room! It seems that it must have been recently remodeled, as it had very modern decor and carpeting. The room was perfect! Bathroom/shower were very good! We had a great night's sleep! The only downfall was the breakfast. Very basic breakfast items, but the breakfast area was way too small. With the wedding in the hotel, it was packed full of people. There was no room to even scootch behind the chairs to get to the food. My son wanted some juice, but there was no way to get to it. As a result, we went away mostly hungry and stopped for an early lunch.
Thank You for staying with us and I am sorry for the breakfast inconvenience. We do have a small breakfast area and it is hard to get a large group to move through there quickly. The best we can do is recommend that guests show some patience and keep trying at different times. I do appreciate that you didn't let that inconvenience take away from acknowledging the friendly service and nice furnishings we have to offer. I hope on your next visit through you give us another opportunity to serve you better!
Wear around the edges look like something that the Corp. office is letting local mgmt. down with. Guest personal care is the best. I have been in more expensive hotels and never had one kept as clean as the bathroom here. Big deal for me!!!

I blocked a set of rooms with this hotel. From day one I had problems, customer service was poor even by the assistant manager. I had several phone calls from friends and family saying they could not reserve a room because they could not find my block. That was finally resolved. Problem number 2- a room was reserved for me and my now husband- and the person who reserved it for us 2 days prior to the date received an email saying it was canceled, so while that was being worked out, I called to double check the room for my DJs and they said the reservation did not exist. I went in the next day to confirm every possible room that may be blocked for my guests and all was well beside the horrible attitude and unwelcoming image the hotel presented. No hello how can I help you-just cold fast forward a day I had a guest of mine who I confirmed the room for the day before get booted to the other hotel, because they said her reservation did not exist and was made for the wrong day, not true as I confirmed it the day before. As a bride fretting about the next day and all the things I needed to still accomplish I had to go deal with the hotel again to get my guests into the Americinn and not the super 8. They had to pack up their thing and come back to the Americinn even though previously the hotel said they had no rooms available. I cannot help to thing the manager who owns both the hotels in Blue Earth was trying to raise rate for other potential guest to make more money by moving my guests out of the hotel. Luckily the issue was solved. But all in all no one should have to put up with this type of poor customer, way too high of rates, and the you would think people were staying at a 4 star hotel, and not a very good breakfast in the morning. Their was only one person who was helpful and accommodating and I do not remember her name that was helpful and brought me a toothbrush after my reception. Otherwise you are better off driving the extra 30 miles to another town for a decent place to stay.
It is true there were a couple errors made during this guest’s stay, but as stated they were corrected and accommodated for. I would however like to take this opportunity to remind guests that after setting up a block of rooms at a hotel be sure that everyone calling in to reserve a room under that block –# 1 knows there is a block of rooms reserved for them to book under, #2 everyone knows the name of the block the rooms are listed under and everyone knows the cutoff date that the rooms will no longer be held. We are all human and sometimes mistakes are made, but by conveying these items to the people you’re inviting will help make things run smoother for everyone. We have a fine establishment here with good personnel and ask everyone to give us a try and judge for themselves.
