Have been staying at this AmericInn for many years. The fact that most of staff have been here many years also I think tell"s us something. Allways nice to see familiar faces when I check inn! This is truly my home away from home. I sleep better here than at home!

My daughter and I attended an awards banquet which is on the same property. We are very busy with school and work, and getting away without work is very rare. So, it is crucial that when we are able to get away, that it is a great experience. This one was - from the professional and courteous front desk staff - waiting with a smile when we arrived, to the warm inviting, well appointed lobby with the cabin type theme, to the nice, large room (we rented a suite), everything was great. The pool area was spotless, well organized, towels neatly folded on each chair. The breakfast was well stocked, very clean, waffles were piping hot. We had dinner the previous night in the attached restaurant - the service was outstanding. Food was great. We are not easily impressed - but this little gem gets an A+ all the way around. We will definitely be back.

Rooms have recently been renovated and are larger than most. We only stayed one night as we were in Duluth for a ski competition at Spirit Mountain. We will definitely consider this hotel for a longer stay next time. We had a main floor room with parking right outside so no hauling ski gear up or down stairs. Lots of options for breakfast and lots of tables and space.
Thanks again for staying with us.
I understand the skiing at Spirit Mountain is great this year again. They have so many wonderful activities and adventure options all year long.
We have recently renovated our guest rooms again - we are very excited about all the upgrades. I'm so glad you enjoyed the accommodations.
We believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day, that is why we offer so many choices on our Hot Home style Breakfast.
Next time you should try one of our family suites, they have a king sized bed in the bed room and a queen sized bed and a full size sofa sleeper in the front room - there's also a kitchenette in them along with a lot of extra space for your ski gear.
Have a great rest of the winter, Deana. Remember we're here all year long for any adventure!
We went up to Proctor to visit my husbands brother. We decided to stay here to and it was great. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was great. I didn't use it but the pool and exercise facilities looked nice.
Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your thoughts and experience on TripAdvisor.
We value any honest feedback our guests are willing to share with us to help us continue to improve our service and to let us know we are doing a good job.
Hopefully next time you come up you will be able to relax and enjoy the pool area, also. With our cold Northern Minnesota winters, it's a favorite place to warm up and pretend you're in the tropics.
I hope you get back up to visit again real soon!

For the past 4 years or so our group of parents have stayed in this very hotel, however, this year was very different from the rest. We are part of a sporting team and we rented about 20 rooms and we there for 2 nights. The manager was very rude to all of us, telling us that we could visit (have fun with games, casual drink) in their front area and that we had to take it to a room. So we did. Then, once we were in the room(s), we were confronted AGAIN saying that we were being too loud. The boys were told they had to stay in their rooms once 10pm came around, which was fine. But when one of the kids was going from one room to another room, the manager got after the child and told them to 'get to their room'. We were told that because of our group, that they had to comp 2 rooms to some other group that was their skiing (who had only rented 4 rooms), AND, then when we were getting ready to leave, my son and another boy went to the breakfast area to get something hot to drink for the ride home. They were looking for a spoon for their hot cocoa/tea so they had opened up the cupboard looking for spoons. The lady day manager then said that they were stealing.. I was right there and saw the whole thing. I told her they were not stealing, but trying to get something hot to drink for the road home and they were looking for spoons.
We have NEVER had such a bad experience with this hotel before, and even though our Coach has signed the same sheet in order for us to stay here, each year, we have never been treated like this before this year.
At some point, rudeness comes and takes the place of being nice and pleasant. This situation could've been handled so differently but from the get go, the hotel management was very rude to us and did not make it a pleasant experience for us at all.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feelings about your recent stay with us with your hockey team.
I am very sorry that you had a bad experience with us.
It is never acceptable for our guests to leave us feeling that they were not valued and respected.
We appreciate everyone who stays with us - there are so many choices out there today, and lodging options for every group and/or individual.
We have many different kinds of groups and teams that stay with us each year. It sounds like we are not a good fit for your group - I'm very sorry about that. We have the group conduct policies in place so that all of guests enjoy their stay with us. This helps us be consistent and fair to all our guests. We are very upfront with our policies - we make sure each group (contact) has copies of the policies before they book the group, so that if it doesn't appear to be a good match, we (and they) know right up front.
To be a good neighbor for all our guests, we do find it necessary to enforce the guidelines. We should always do that with dignity and respect. I will follow up with my Manager on Duty and entire team to make sure we are following the guidelines and doing respectfully.
We do appreciate the feedback, I really think your comments will help other teams make a good decision about whether we are a good fit for them.
If there is anything else that you would like to share with me to make our guests experience with us wonderful, please feel free to reach out to me by calling me at 218-624-1026 or emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
