I was wondering why people rate this hotel so badly. I went to Minnesota with my husband and my baby early this month. We did not book a hotel but drop by this one. The room we live in is really nice with wonderful customer service, it is very good my me and my baby as we can stay in the hotel pool for hours comfortably. The free breakfast offer a variety of food and drink. My husband like it a lot as he thinks the price is really low with the wonderful service. We definitely will come again in the near future.

I love AmericInns just wish all had the same standards. Checked in later in the evening, was surprised to see the woman working the front desk wearing jeans and a zip up sweatshirt, not typical AmericInn uniforms that I see in other places. Once I got to my room I could right away tell someone had smoked in the room, it stunk. Shower was covered in long black hair. Curtains falling off the curtain rod, rust stain running down the wall it could easily come off with some cleaner and elbow grease. Went back to my car and let the desk girl know about the smell in the room, I did not want to get charged for this. She did not seem surprised. I wish more AmericInns would get the nice white blanket rather than the thin tan blanket. Went down for breakfast about 9:20 am. Most of the food was already gone and never saw anyone come to clean up or stock anything. No bagels, hot items were gone just a empty warmer, almost out of coffee cups, jelly all gone, just a gallon of milk in a fridge (cant imagine this would pass a health inspection) for everyone to share. The area was dirty, not the normal nice breakfast I see at AmericInns. Heard someone complain hot tub had been out of order for a few days. I love AmericInn I just wish all owners and managers had the same standards, this one was below the standard I normally see

My family was staying here for a couple weeks between houses. Upon check in we were disappointed to find that the hot tub was not usable, sauna non functioning and the pool heater didn't appear to working. It was ice cold. The room was fine, although there were terrible smelling air fresheners. First issue was when I had a question about a hold on my account and asked for the manager to call me, which she never did. Our major issue came halfway through week two when I found lice on my daughter. I notified the staff and they bagged up linens and remade the beds. We took care of the lice at huge expense ($300) without blaming the hotel, although the timeline clearly indicated they could have come from the hotel. Later that day we noticed that my daughter's blankets were missing and were told that it was thrown away with the linens. This includes the blanket she had from infancy and one that I made for her several years ago. Tonight, the night before checkout we were notified that we would be charged $300 for their decision to throw out the linens. This is ridiculous as it was their staff decision to throw away the linens rather than washing them. It appears that their hotel management is rarely if ever, on site, so I expect an issue at check out as we will not pay this ridiculous charge. It makes me wonder if they would rather have bugs at their hotel than people report them? I feel that we were very generous in not requesting a refund due to the issues with the pool, sauna (which had the heater fixed about a week later but smelled like urine when turned on) and hot tub and an extremely disappointed at the outcome at this point. I would hope that the hotel management would contact us in response to this review, however since they haven't bothered to reply to date, doubt it. The only saving grace is that the staff (minus management) was receptive and helpful.
Overall it was a good stay. A few minor issues but we were very happy when we learned we could have our two small shih tzus in our room. The hotel was very busy and a little under staffed but the staff that was there was very friendly and helpful.
