We have been very happy with this hotel in the past but it has gone downhill in recent time. We arrived on a Thursday night of a holiday weekend and the parking lot was being repaired. Had to park at a business across the parking lot. Member of our party got sick from the sausage at breakfast. Children running and screaming up and down the hall outside our room
Horrible experience with very uncaring staff. I stayed here a week on business and put up with a weeks worth of powdered scramble eggs and a hot tub that's jets didn't work. They never took down their sign outside advertising a pool and hot tub. I wouldn't have written this ...
Horrible experience with very uncaring staff. I stayed here a week on business and put up with a weeks worth of powdered scramble eggs and a hot tub that's jets didn't work. They never took down their sign outside advertising a pool and hot tub. I wouldn't have written this if that was all. The last full day here I left my room at noon as the maids came in. They used an old rag to keep the door open to clean. I was gone until 7PM and when I got back my room was wide open with the rag still keeping the door open. I ran to the phone to call the desk and no one answered. I went downstairs and the desk guy finally came from down the hall. I told him what had happened and he just stood there and said it wasn't his fault and why did I have "an attitude" with him. He said he wasn't in charge of the maids and not to blame him. I wanted the manager called but he said the manager was away for the weekend. I asked for his name and he refused to give it to me. He then said to me, How do I know you didn't leave it open?? I went upstairs and didn't call the police because there was nothing missing. I called the national number of AmeriInn to report this and was told that customer service was open Monday-Friday from 9-5. Of course this is Friday at 7PM. I will be calling them on MOnday for sure. I travel often for business and have never had something like this happen or been treated like I have no reason to be upset. This man was rude and very uncaring. My company sends people here at least twice a year if not more and I have already reported this so we won't be staying here. If you need to stay in Wadena and this is the best they have to offer I highly recommend that you stay in another town and drive in. This is the worst!
I would like to again thank you for your comments and offer my sincerest apology for the inconveniences you encountered during your stay and to also, thank you for the nice phone conversation that we had Saturday morning, May 23rd. Comments, positive or negative, are always valued and allow us to keep up the pronounced service that we strive to offer each and every guest and, when needed, to help bring notice of where improvement is needed to assure our guests have a positive, clean and comfortable stay each and every time they visit us. We hold a very exacting standard on customer service, we are in the hospitality business and that is why we need to make every effort to give all of our guest, from our numerous repeat guests to our very first time guests the best experience we possibly can. I can assure you that this is an isolated incident and I am taking a very serious approach, talking with each and every team member that was directly and indirectly involved, re-train and refresh our criteria and make very clear that it remains just this, an isolated incident. We have a tremendous track record with positive guest feedback and we believe that we treat our guests like our family and friends. We are also making great strides with our new property Refresh! From new lobby carpet and furniture, new tile, fresh new cedar in our sauna, renovation of hot tub, new guest room furniture and paint, fresh new exterior paint, parking lot and several other projects to even better our guest’s experience. Again, my sincerest apologies and if I may further assist you beyond our phone conversation, Please, do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.
I was there for a horse show. Showed up there a little before check in time and the staff was more than helpful. I even had the option to change my reservations. Hands down great experience! Will be staying there again next year.
I stayed here after a very long day on the road. The lobby is welcoming and the staff could not be more nice. The beds are so comfortable I fell asleep very quickly. In the morning there is breakfast which is very good I almost don't want to leave.

Exceptional place to stay. The staff was very helpful as even the desk clerk rushed out to hold the door for us when we brought our stuff in. Whirlpool jets didn't work, but I would highly recommend this hotel to all and will stay there on future trips. Very pleased with Veteran's discount as we were able to rent three rooms for my family to attend my Mom's funeral.
