This was a very good value for the price and it more than met my needs - I got a good night's sleep, was able to easily connect to the internet and I enjoyed the breakfast and never ending cup of cofffee

I was very impressed and would definitely recommend you staying here if you want to stay in a very clean and neat place.
whirlpool didn't work, if it rains, the water comes in under the walls and down the chimney, and the sauna doesn't work. the overnight clerk was excellent, but to pay a weekend price during the week, bad

Stayed for Sonshine 2014. The location was good and the hotel wasn't too bad. It's old, so the decor was outdated and could use remodeling. The pool was supposedly heated, but was actually very cold. The pool area never had clean towels, we had to bring our own towels. The breakfast area was really small and often out of food. Guests would complain about the lack of food, but rather than bringing more food for everyone, staff would only bring enough food for that one guest. If you get to breakfast earlier, you probably have a good selection, but as you get closer to the end of breakfast service, they get stingy. Staff didn't seem too helpful, just doing the bare minimum of what was needed. Upon checkout they just handed me the receipt and never asked about my stay/experience.
I booked a year in advance so the price was $90/night when I booked... which seems about right for the value. Now they are raising to $170/night... I wouldn't pay that price for this hotel. When I reserved a year ago, I gave a credit card that was current at the time. 2 days before my stay, they tried to charge that card and nearly canceled my reservation. Thankfully they called and I gave them my new credit card number, but it was very upsetting when they told me they don't normally call, they just cancel the reservation.
I would not recommend this hotel if the price is above $100/night. I also would make sure you check with the property a week prior to check-in to make sure they haven't canceled your reservation and have a current credit card number. Next year I plan to stay at another hotel and would not stay here unless there wasn't any other option. There are probably other hotels in the area with better value.
Our stay at the americinn was great,,,staff was very helpful and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The only complaint I have would be the high price of the room but I think all hotels in that area raise their rates during Sonshine festival.
