Room was large, it was a hot day and I was pleasantly surprised the ac was set to 71, made the room VERY comfortable. Bathroom had walk-in shower, loved that! The breakfast was the usual fare for this type of hotel but the hot food was hot and the milk was cold, all was good

Based on many other reviews, I was expecting this hotel to be something more special than it was. It was not a bad hotel, but it was nothing above and beyond others. While the staff was not rude or anything like that, we didn't get the feeling that they were so helpful and friendly as others have mentioned. They seemed to interact to a minimum with us (which doesn't bother us). The rooms were clean and in good condition, that was true, but we found them smaller than a lot of other hotels we have stayed in (especially for the price). Ours didn't even have a fridge or microwave (it was the only room left besides the jacuzzi suite which we weren't interested in). As others have mentioned, they pretty much have the corner on the market because the only other choice is the gross Super 8. The breakfast was just average hotel food - other reviews made it sound so great and we foolishly were expecting such. The pool was nice and warm and I was pleasantly surprised to see drinking fountains and bathrooms with shower right in the pool area (although that might have been a code thing for the area since the signs said to shower before entering - which of course no one did). However, the same trash and clumps of hair were there the whole 3 days we stayed - obviously the area was never cleaned. The signs also said no food but there was a family that was eating there and no one came to tell them to stop. Worse than that, though, there was a family with 2 small kids that was in the pool for a long time which then I noticed were waiting on the pool deck to dry off. They then left using the door that led directly outside, walked to their truck in the parking lot, and then drove off. I can only assume they were not hotel guests - otherwise why would they take off in damp swimsuits using the outer door? Obviously someone let them use the pool for free - it was during the short time I saw a younger receptionist at the desk. She left shortly after this family did. Perhaps they had to leave before her shift was over? This is not only rude and breaking rules, but extremely dangerous to hotel guests. We also, based on other reviews, expected to not hear much though the walls. While we didn't hear much outside noise (probably because we asked to be on the quieter back side) we did hear people in other rooms - we could even hear those urinating next door. While better than other hotels, I didn't "not hear anything" like other have mentioned. The advertising in the room even mentioned that they use construction that keeps out noise. This was definitely not a bad hotel, but since there is no other real choice, they know they have got the market covered. We just expected something almost magical based on previous reviews. However, we have heard that there is a new hotel planned in Monticello (the neighboring town).
This is one of the top three hotels we have ever stayed at. Excellent service, clean and comfortable rooms, fantastic breakfast and very quiet place to stay. I also liked the high speed Internet service here too. I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I rode our motorcycle to Anamosa to visit the National Motorcycle Museum and J&P Cycles. This hotel is right next door to J&P and only 1 mile from the museum. This is a very motorcycle friendly hotel. They have motorcycle parking and offer towels to wipe your bike. Our room was very clean and comfy. All of the workers we met were very nice and helpful. Breakfast is good with hot items as well as all the usual cereal, waffles, pastries etc. they have a small bar selling beer and wine. Pool was really nice.
Stayed in this hotel while in Iowa for a wedding in Wyoming, IA. It was very quiet, clean and comfortable and offered a nice complimentary breakfast. The folks at the desk were very helpful and the lobby offered a very comfortable place to relax or read.
