On the outside, it looks good. Our room was clean, needs some repainting. There is still that long yellow spot on the ceiling which looks like something from a water leak from the room above. Good choices for breakfast. Making reservations was a nightmare. First, they got the dates wrong - a week before our arrival - and charged us for one night and another fee which I suppose a no show fee. Learned about it when the charges showed up on our account and when we called we were directed to the General Manager who took our reservations apparently. Sent him an e mail and did not get a response not until later during that day blaming us for the wrong dates (we were attending a friend's wedding so there is no way that we could have booked to come a week before) and did not even offer any apologies at all. We thought it got sorted, agreement was the one night charge will stay and we will only be charged with only one other night once we check in. On the day of our arrival, we came in at 12 noon (as we have previously arranged an early check in as we flew out of Seattle at 1AM and arrived at 6 AM). Guy at the desk (same guy who got the dates wrong) told us that it is too early to check in. Looked him straight in the eyes and reminded him that we have previously arranged and will pay extra for an early check in. Did not say a word and with a frown worked at his computer and gave us a room. We reminded him again about the mix up with the dates and charges and assured us that we will only be billed for one night. Come check out, got charged 2 nights and since it was at 3AM, the overnight guy did not know about this as the "General Manager" who checked us in did not put a note on our account. It has been 3 days and we are still working on this issue. As a manager myself, the General Manager should be the example of good customer service, which in this case is the opposite. Not owning up to your mistakes and blaming customers is not a good example to your subordinates.

On behalf of our team, I would like to apologize for failing to exceed your expectations regarding reservations and check-in. Your satisfaction is important to us. It is our procedure to take the reservation per the guest’s request, then repeat the reservation back to the guest to correct any errors that may occurred while taking the initial reservation. Ms. Co, when it comes to early check-in’s we do not “charge” for an early check in. We feel it is important to accommodate our guests so if the room is available early we will check our guests in immediately or as soon as the room comes available. Because we were 100% occupied the night prior we had to make adjustments with room assignments to accommodate your early arrival. Please consider we do offer all of our guests an 11:00 A.M. check out, and after the rooms are cleaned we inspect our rooms prior to the new guest being checked in. Also, we did apply the no-show fee on April 21 to your stay for this past weekend. I do agree that providing exceptional customer service is the key to a well-run hotel, and that’s why I like to refer to our staff as team members and not subordinates

I was able to grab something before heading to work. The staff however is what made this stay a special one. I was upgraded and given a treat bag for being a member. The appreciation from the staff is what really made this trip feel like a home away from home. Randy and the blonde gal really exceeded their hospitality expectations. Snarky night and morning clerk. Had a negative provincial attitude that rubbed the wrong way. Tired, worn, chipped furniture. Dusty, dirty room with marks and dirt all over the walls. Carpet....Ick! Better options exist 4 or so miles away.
Location of this hotel is 1/2 miles from Rochester airport. The hotel was clean, the room is nice and modern. The manager is friendly, easy check in and out. Definitely will stay again if I need to go from Rochester airport.
