Good hotel for room, front lobby, front desk is very nice.
Very unfriendly people servicing the conference room area. if you need a nice room, you have a good room, however, if you need conference room, go elsewhere.
The room was clean and comfortable. We have stayed at hotels in many price ranges and we have found this one is a good value for the money. I would recommend this AmericInn to anyone I know coming to stay in the Pierre area.
The hotel is always clean. The staff is very friendly. We are repeat guests and the desk clerk always remembers us each visit! The breakfast room over-looks the Missouri River which is fun to look out and watch. The food is always fresh, hot (where applicable) and good!

Pros: Good breakfast spread. Lots of choices. Various hot beverages available in the lobby. Rooms and common areas were clean. Room was a decent size- not huge, not tiny. Bathroom was also a nice size, with the sink on the outside, which we prefer. Rooms facing the river had a fantastic view of the Missouri and the capitol building. There is a nice walking path one could use in the summer. The neighborhood is quiet. The front desk staff were very friendly. Check-in went well. We did not notice any funky smells, and I have a very sensitive nose. We liked that they began serving breakfast at six, since we had a sporting event that started at seven. Price was reasonable. We didn't hear many inside noises, but we were on the top floor. We had one maintenance issue that was fixed quickly.
Cons- Hubby and kids said the pool was too cold. The biggest negative for me was the hard bed. I have only run into one other U.S. hotel with a more uncomfortable mattress. My hips hurt if I laid on my side and my back hurt if I laid on my back. I am not a senior citizen, either.
I do want to compare this experience with another area hotel, which is ranked number one. I have only stayed at one other hotel in town, which was the Club House Suites. I was unable to book at the Club House this time because they were full. I found this Americinn across the river in Fort Pierre. Overall, this hotel was better. The breakfast was more extensive, it was cheaper, the view is better and its location across the river means it is not on a lot of people's radar. We drove by the Club House during our stay, and the parking lot was packed. I would guess that the pool and breakfast areas were a mad house. The Americinn seemed much more peaceful. The Club House does have bigger rooms and better mattresses. If I return to town in the future, I will have to decide whether or not the mattress is a deal breaker, because I liked everything else about the Americinn.
