Great place to stay and feel welcome. The rooms were clean and the pool and hot tub were wonderful, especially the fun waterslide. Sauna didn't work. Clean workout room, laundry room to use and they even had a mini game room to enjoy. They have a mini store if you want to purchase some snacks for your room. Breakfast had several choices. The only thing is you have to ask for fruit and yogurt - they don't always have it out. Only disappointment was I stayed for 7 days and they put me in a noisy location. Lots of outside noise from the parking lot. Heard some dogs in the hallway and it smelled of smoke at times, but overall very clean.

I noticed the price advertised on the sign was cheaper than I payed through Priceline. I kindly inquired with Heather if it would be possible to refund the difference. She rudely interrupted me and said "that's what happens when you go through a third party." I accepted this response, but asked her nicely if she could at least tell me what we would have payed had we not gone through Priceline. She outright refused to quote me their prices because because we had already paid. Am I crazy or is this rude customer service? What kind of a hotel refuses to disclose their prices? Pretty shady if you ask me.

Just read the post from March 13, 2014 from the "business traveler" and had to let you all know about our weekend. My boyfriend and I went out to the Black Hills Stock Show on Jan. 29 2015 and stayed 2 nights at this AmericInn. When we checked out, our Destination Fee was $7.95 per night! It went up $3.00 in less than a year. Only after getting our final bill slipped under the door Saturday morning did we notice this fee. When we dropped our room keys (2) to the counter, we asked what this was for? The desk clerk said it was for some rewards program that the hotel was offering (discounts on items in the hotel and for future stays). He gave a very vague explanation and we were not provided any literature on what we were buying. Not even a chance to opt out. Just a reminder we were billed $7.95 per night! How is that even legal! I'm sure they don't double the savings! I've also done some research on this fee and will be contacting the FTC to file a complaint. We were not even given a card or paper or anything to provide proof of the program that we are now enrolled in. We have nothing to show. Just called my sister up and they stayed at the Hampton Inn in Rapid City on Fri and Sat 1/30 and 1/31 for the BHSS too and they did not have a DF there. And to mention our room...our carpet was dirty and had a dinner plate size red dried crusty spot on it. Walls are like paper thin (can hear everything going on outside the door as people walking by). Our shower did not have hot water (only luke warm) and had over heard a guest complaining at the front desk about no hot water in their shower either. The room heater kicked on and off continuously assuming the rooms are not well insulated. We have been coming out to the BHSS and Rodeo every year for the past 13 years and this was our first time staying at the AmericInn. The sign stating "rooms starting at $39.99" caught our eye so we stopped. We ended up with a room for $49.99 the first night but then had to pay $89.99 the 2nd night, because it fell on the weekend of the stock show. We've never had that happen during our stays at any other hotels on this weekend or on the 2nd weekend of the event, and we've always stayed at least two nights. We would sure like to read any other reviews from guests who feel they've been scammed by this fee. We are asking Management to reply to this review and if there is an option for a refund of these fees (2 @ $7.95) since we were not informed at the time of check in. Word of Mouth is your best or worst advertisement!
I would like to personally apologize that our Guest Benefit Card was not explained at check in time. This program is completely optional and I have refunded the fee for both nights. Please, feel free to contact me at 605-343-8424 so we can discuss this issue further.
I recommend this place, they have been updating the motel, installing new carpet. My room had just had new carpet installed, bed was comfortable nice suite and good wireless internet that I use with good download speed
