"Disclaimer: I was present during the "Lost My Reservation on my Wedding Night" review. I was on the complete opposite side of the building, and heard a woman screaming at someone. So naturally I walked into the lobby to see what was going on. Once I rounded the corner, I witnessed the bride badgering and belittling the front desk clerk, Rick, on top of him trying to deal with a drunk woman trying to pay for her room with what appeared to be a Best Buy Reward Zone Card (not the credit card kind either). The drunk reward zone card woman kept asking him if he thought she was a bad person because he wouldn't accept her card, and he was trying to explain that it wasn't a credit card to her. Now I can understand the frustration in finding out your wedding night isn't going according to plan, but the way she was behaving towards him was absolutely disgusting and disrespectful. I doubt he had anything to do with her reservation and was just trying to put out as many different fires as he could at once. Especially given my fantastic prior experience with him. I don't care who you are or what your situation is, you don't throw a temper tantrum in a hotel lobby at nearly 1 in the morning. I didn't stay in the lobby too long after I assessed the situation, but the way that she kept repeating herself and increasing the volume of her voice would lead me to believe that she was quite intoxicated as well. There are rational ways to solve problems, and also respectful ways to treat human beings, which she opted not to do, so I hope you take her "review" with a grain of salt.
Now on to my actual review.
A month ago, I was surprised with tickets for the Summerset Music and Art Festival in the sleepy little town of Somerset, WI. I'm a big music fan, so I was pretty excited. When I was told we'd be sleeping outside in a tent, in 80 degree weather (without humidity), and surrounded by thousands of drunk and molly addled 20 something's, blasting dance music, that excitement quickly turned to horror. I immediately tried to figure out a way around my predicament, calling RV places seeing if rentals were available (they were sold out), and eventually stumbled on this hotel. I had no hesitation paying nearly as much as my ticket to secure a room for the weekend.
Rick was the person who answered my call and walked me through the process. I was relieved to find a room, as the previous two hotels I had called were all booked up. He found me the cheapest room remaining and even worked with me to make sure I wasn't missing any additional discounts I may qualify for. He provided me with a ton of great information and made the booking process easy and hassle free.
When I arrived late on Friday night, after midnight, he got me checked in promptly and when I asked about possibly canceling the second night, he said that was no issue and that I could decide the next morning. Once settling in, I called down from my room and he gave me several suggestions on where to eat and what places delivered after asking a few brief questions about what types of food and ambiance I was looking for.
The room was very clean, private, and well appointed. Rick's calm helpful demeanor made a late night check in at this sleepy little corner of Wisconsin a very different hotel experience than I'm used to.
I recommend this hotel on him alone.
That said, the place wasn't too shabby itself. The pool was awesome and had a built in basketball hoop and netting to catch stray balls. And not just a cheap hoop, this was a permanent structure. Super impressed with that.
The breakfast was also miles above what I expected. It included muffins, donuts, cereal, build your own omlet, eggs, meat choices (they were gone before I rolled out of bed at 11:30 ha).
Fantastic experience overall.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was nice and always willing to help with any problem/question I had. My girlfriend and I were beyond satisfied and will definitely return if we are ever in the area again.
This hotel was easy to find- very clean with friendly staff. They provide snacks in the afternoon until 9 pm, which was surprising and very nice. The breakfast they provide is awesome with lots of different and very good choices. We were very happy with our stay there. :)
Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor. We're so happy you enjoyed your stay, especially since you were celebrating your 20th wedding anniversary. Congratulations and hopefully we'll see you again!
Perfect for our needs. Clean. Large room. Comfy bed and linens. The young lady whom I believe is the manager, is so friendly and accommodating. We were allowed to check in early. There is always coffee and drinks available. The pool and hot tub are good size, clean and towel...

This is the third year we've stayed at the AmericInn New Richmond during the Tough Mudder weekend and we will be back again. The rooms and hotel are always clean and very reasonably priced. Room 212 is definitely a bargain for the space. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. When our plans for the weekend quickly changed, Michelle at the front desk went above and beyond to take care of everything we needed. So much so that we've already booked our room for next year in a specific block of rooms with her help!
Thank you for such a wonderful review. It's nice to know that guests find the staff friendly and accommodating. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
